An artistic project created in 2013 and located in Brussels in a place called the Sterput, E² organizes exhibitions, creative workshops, focus on micro-publishing, and other cultural events throughout the year. As a meeting place for emerging and established artists from all walks of life, Sterput promotes alternative and non-standard contemporary art. The E² project proposes a different vision of art, raw and sharp, but also popular and accessible, by aiming at the access to the culture for all. Figurative art nonconforming and singular, Sterput believes in the emotional power of the images.
The E² asbl also expresses itself through the edition of artists’ books printed and shaped by hand in Brussels in limited series. A book is published on the occasion of each exhibition. The Sterput’s bookshop presents a fine selection of various artistic creations: graphzines, books, posters…
Based on a non-lucrative associative functioning, the E² asbl is composed of a team of volunteers working for a local, respectful, united and collaborative economy. Sterput is the exhibition and distribution space of the E² asbl, open from Thursday to Sunday, at 122 Rue de Laeken in Brussels.
