Founded in 1974 in La Hulpe, a commune south of Brussels, by Chantal Limauge, the À Livre Ouvert bookshop moved to Woluwé-Saint-Lambert in 1986. It merged with Le Rat Conteur, one of the first bookstores specialized in children’s books in Brussels, in 2002.
