Created by Michel Pire in 1982, the bookshop La Licorne was first located in rue Xavier De Bue. Under the impulse of André Pire, because he wished to occupy a more airy space, it moved to number 656 of the chaussée d’Alsemberg.
Deborah Danblon and Daniel Debroux took over in 2006 and expanded the bookstore in 2008 to highlight the youth section. In May 2012, a pedagogical space opened, where teachers could consult, borrow books and benefit from the advice of an enthusiast of youth literature.
Now, the flame of La Licorne is in the hands of Muriel Desart and Didier Peeters, two passionate people who have embarked on this great adventure.
La Licorne is also present on the airwaves, through the voice of Deborah Danblon, every Sunday at noon on La Première in the program La librairie francophone. You will discover her favorites, as well as those of her fellow bookseller-reporters from other countries who have come together for this literary event.
